If I recall correctly, the ROG Strix lineup last year only consists of the Hero II and the SCAR II. These are really awesome gaming laptops. I even considered buying a SCAR II or even settle for its Hero variant which I reviewed last year. But a lot of ROG fans noticed the price increase of these two popular gaming machines. In 2017, prices were quite affordable but when the Hero II and SCAR II were introduced, their prices have gone up to six-digits with the lowest price at P104,990.
ASUS Republic of Gamers might have realized what they’ve done, so I guess they’re making it up for us by coming up with a new laptop. The ASUS ROG Strix G G531 has most, if not all the qualities of a good gaming laptop that is more affordable. Its slim bezels make up for its quite chunky look, which houses an Intel 9th Gen processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or 1660ti graphic card. Wrapped around the laptop is a lighting bar that somehow makes it appear that the laptop is hovering on a table.
We don’t have pricing yet for the ASUS ROG Strix G G531, but we are assured that it will be more affordable. We’ll update everyone about the new Strix soon!
