The ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q1R is now out. It is a budget gaming monitor under the TUF line. Sporting a 23.8” screen, and Full HD (1920×1080) display; it runs at a faster refresh rate of 165Hz compared to the other budget gaming monitor from ASUS: the VP249QGR. Response times are kept at 1ms MPRT, and is similar to the VP249QGR that was launched earlier. It uses an IPS panel, therefore giving rich color gamut at 99% sRGB or 72%NTSC.
TUF Gaming VG249Q1R has a thinner profile than the VP249QGR, with the only buldge found at the bottom part of the monitor. The lower section contains the sockets for video, audio, power and the screen’s OSD controls. An open, ring style base with red accent and texture makes for an edgy looking exterior.
TUF Gaming VG249Q1R comes with the usual video features from ASUS like Trace Free Technology, Extra Low Motion Blur, Low Blue Light, GamePlus modes, GameFast Input Technology as well as FreeSync Support. Controls are accessible at the back through the use of a multidirection joystick. It has 2 HDMI 1.4 ports, one DisplayPort 1.2 and a 3.5mm mini Jack for connecting headphones or headsets. It also supports VESA mounts with a measurement of 75mm x 75mm.

TUF VG249Q1R Availability
The monitor is now available here in the Philippines at ASUS’ partner stores starting September 15, 2020. Suggested retail price is at 12,890.
