As part of Cherry Mobile’s 10th year anniversary celebration, the Philippines’ number 1 mobile phone brand is bringing back a phone that captured a lot of Filipinos’ hearts. The Cherry Mobile P1 is a pure basic phone that’s so unique, anyone will be compelled to buy one even if they don’t need it.
The Cherry Mobile P1 was quietly released into the market in July of 2009. It’s a square-shaped phone that resembles a pocket calculator and lacks basic features like the camera, an MP3 player, and even an FM Radio. These caused some doubts if the company would sell well in the market. However, the uniqueness of the phone and a very affordable price tag of 999 Pesos caught the fancy of Filipinos. After 10 years, the P1 is back with additional features. It has a bigger, colored display, a camera that is also capable for video recording, MP3 playback, MicroSD Card support up to 32GB, and a Bluetooth Dialer which can be paired with a smartphone.
