We were invited to interview the Producers of Square Enix, more known for its Final Fantasy game series. Mr. Hiroki Fujimoto and Mr. Kei Hirono are here to promote Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, and the upcoming War of the Visions.
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is an original mobile game of the FINAL FANTASY series launched in June 29, 2016. The game has garnered over 40 Million downloads worldwide. The game has some new updates to the Final Fantasy Brave Exvius fans.
- Two additional languages – Final Fantasy Brave Exvius currently supports 6 different languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Korean and Traditional Chinese. The two new languages are Thai and Indonesian Bahasa. This means the game is gaining more users in Southeast Asia.
- New Story Update – New story content will be released for a limited time as Season 2 has ended. This is an additional story that bridges the gap between Season 2 and Season 3. In this story, players will go on an adventure with Aldore King Rain leading up to Season 3.
- Season 3 – In Season 1, Rain as the main protagonist while Lasswell took the leading role in Season 2. In Season 3, female hero Fina will become the main protagonist.
- New Players – For players who are new to FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS, they will be able to receive up to 4000 Lapis and a guranteed 5* EX Summon Ticket.
Mr. Fujimoto then introduced me to their upcoming mobile game – FINAL FANTASY Brave Exvius: War of the Visions. The new title born from the Brave Exvius universe is a story that goes back to a few hujdred years ago in Andra, a continent of Lapis, before FINAL FANTASY Brave Exvius.
The story depicts a war between rival nations that occurred in a world where legends of crystals have been passed down since ancient times. A tiny spark here ignites the flames that would embroil an entire continent in conflict. The 5 rival nations are Leonis, Hourne, Fennes, Wezette and Crystal Sanctum. Each nation is burdened with its own dignity, in this time of conflict. Heroes emerge and their paths cross as the story unfolds.
The global version of War of the Visions is a new tactical RPG for mobile devices. Players taske command of their units to annihilate enemies in scenarios featuring different types of terrain and heights, where each unit’s job and their ability to use close-range or long-range attacks will also play a key role in the strategy to victory.
War of the Visions is packed with new features, but also includes a key mechanic from FINAL FANTASY Brave Exvius that will surely delight those familiar to the series. The game will reunite some familiar faces from FINAL FANTASY Brave Exvius as well.
Mr. Fujimoto shared that Final Fantasy already had a smartphone game 6 years ago the current Brave Exvius game was a remake. He also shared that there were some challenges in making the mobile game. Unlike the console game which has a fixed story, Brave Exvius’s story constantly changes which needs updates once in a while. Two years ago, they noticed that there is a demand for Simulation RPG so they looked for a partner that would eventually help develop War of the Visions.
While the FINAL FANTASY Series may be mostly familiar with those who were born in the 90s, Mr. Fujimoto and Mr. Hirono think that the younger generation will like the War of the Visions. They’re hoping the gameplay would introduce these young players to the Final Fantasy universe.
To promote FINAL FANTASY Brave Exvius and (soon) War of the Visions, Square Enix is working closely with Gumi to bring the games closer to the Filipinos’ hearts.
FINAL FANTASY Brave Exvius is available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play. FINAL FANTASY War of the Visions will be launched in Japan first, while the Global version will be announced once it is ready.
