Esports Event in 30th SEA Games has Officially Begun

History was made in the 30th SEA Games as the Esports event has officially begun at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan City today. This is the first time Esports was included as a medal event in the biennial meet.

The opening ceremony of the Esports event was graced by RAZER CEO Mr. Min-Liang Tan, San Juan City Mayor Mr. Francis Zamora, Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) President Mr. Kenneth Fok, and POC President Mr. Abraham Tolentino. The SEA Games 2019 Esports opening ceremony was attended by Razer CEO, Mr. Min-Liang Tan; San Juan City Mayor, Mr. Francis Zamora; AESF President, Mr. Kenneth Fok; and POC President, Mr. Abraham Tolentino. SIBOL’s Hearthstone lone female athlete Ms. Jacinta Dee was the Philippines’ flagbearer and lead the athlete’s Oath of Sportsmanship.

Matches started after noon with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Starcraft 2, DOTA 2, Hearthstone, Arena of Valor and Tekken 7.
