OPPO F11 Pro teased; Touts 48MP Snapper

We’ve been hearing of rumors that OPPO has been gearing up to launch its own 48 MP camera-equipped mid-range offering. Today, the company pretty much confirms those rumors.

In a recent tweet, OPPO teases that “a #BrilliantPortrait” is worth even more” than a thousand words, giving emphasis on the OPPO F11 Pro’s selfie taking prowess.

The OPPO F11 Pro is expected to be equipped with a pop-up selfie camera similar to what Vivo has used in their NEX S smartphone. Given that Oppo is teasing great low-light selfies, it’s highly possible that the selfie camera will have the 48 MP sensor, not the rear camera. For the uninitiated, a high resolution sensor like a 48 MP one with small individual pixel sizes can combine 4 adjacent pixels to essentially form one pixel capable of capturing more light.

Speaking of sensors, the sensor that’s going in the OPPO F11 Pro should either be the Sony IMX586 or Samsung ISOCELL GM1. The latter of which is used in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, which will be one of the F11 Pro’s chief rivals when it launches.

OPPO hasn’t set a specific date but promises that it will be “launching soon”. Probably during the Mobile World Congress which takes place a little over a week from now.
