Spotted Gadget: iPhone 5c In The Philippines

I was having dinner with friends last night when one of them brought this out of her bag. I never thought I’d see it this soon a week after it became available in the U.S. market.

It’s the iPhone 5c. Not a knock-off, but the real thing. In my hands.

I played with it for a few minutes just to check how it feels holding the device. In spite of being covered in plastic, the iPhone 5c is a bit heavier than my iPhone 5 but it’s more comfortable to hold thanks to its rounded corners. As expected with the material used, the back cover is a fingerprint magnet and OC people like me would have to always bring a microfiber cloth to clean up the smudges. I think I would be more confident to use this without a case like what I normally do with Android smartphones made with the same material. I didn’t bother playing with the software anymore as I already have iOS7 installed on my iPhone.

I think it’s cute, and if I have the extra money to burn, I’ll get one to be used as a spare phone. (I think I’m starting to think like an Apple fanboy now.)

Online stores here in the Philippines are selling the 16GB version for as low as Php 28,000.00. Apple said that countries like the Philippines will have the iPhone 5c and 5s by December. The question is, how much will it cost especially for those availing it from postpaid plans.
