Leading Taiwanese bank is the strategic investor in LoL Esports in Southeast Asia and the primary partner of the Pacific Championship Series (PCS), which commenced on 20 June.

The PCS, started in 2020, is a merged evolution of the League of Legends Master Series (LMS) and League of Legends Southeast Asia Tour (LST) and is co-organized by Riot Games and FunPlus Esports, while Garena is the publisher of League of Legends in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The combined league continues to increase the level of competition in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong while creating a more engaging experience for fans.

“CTBC Bank’s commitments to integrity, innovation and care for their customers directly echo the driving principles of the PCS. We’re thrilled to team up with them on this groundbreaking partnership, which will provide meaningful and long-term value to our fans. We couldn’t be more excited to build the future of League of Legends esports in the region together,” said Chris Tran, Head of Esports at Riot Games Southeast Asia.

The first deal of its kind in Southeast Asia, CTBC Bank’s three-year investment amplifies the PCS’ ability to enhance the player and fan experience across the region. The Bank’s support unlocks opportunities to upgrade and increase production volume and quality, enables operations to expand beyond Taiwan, with the integration of broadcast production facilities in Bangkok and Singapore, and fuels future large-scale fan engagement and outreach.
