In our daily lives, we often rely on our phones to stay connected and informed in the digital world. Recognizing this need, vivo has introduced the vivo Y28, a smartphone launched on June 29, 2024, that promises an exceptional battery life compared to others on the market.
The vivo Y28 is equipped with a 6000 mAh battery, which is larger than the standard 5000 mAh found in most smartphones. This makes it a reliable choice for everyday use. We plan to test its battery performance to see how well it holds up in real-world scenarios.

Battery Test of vivo Y28
We conducted two types of tests to assess its battery life: day-to-day use and the battery test in PCMark. In our PCMark Work 3.0 battery life test, we got a result of 19 hours and 54 minutes when we tested it from 100% battery with 50% display brightness. The result is impressive, as most other smartphones we test usually last under 10 hours.
In our day-to-day experience with the vivo Y28, we used it as our main phone for several days to test its battery performance. Here is our experience in a day with vivo Y28:
We started our day at 6 AM with 100% battery. We usually watch some Facebook Reels and YouTube Shorts to wake up. After watching for 15 minutes, we began our morning rituals. Then, we left the house went out to work. While traveling, we streamed music through Bluetooth earphones for 30 minutes and turned on mobile data to browse the internet and chat with friends during the commute. We arrived at the office with 96% battery life.
While working from 8 AM to 12 NN, we occasionally used our phone to receive texts or chats on Viber and WhatsApp. Before our lunch break, we had 90% battery left. During lunch, we watched some YouTube videos until 1 PM. In the afternoon break at 3 PM, we had 86% battery left and played some Genshin Impact for 30 minutes, which reduced the battery to 78%. We then returned to work until 6 PM.
Our battery percentage was 73% when we signed out of the office. We traveled for 30 minutes, listening to music with Bluetooth earphones and mobile data turned on while scrolling through social media. Our battery left was 67%. It is impressive to see that after using it for 12 hours, we were still above 60%.
We had dinner while watching YouTube videos for an hour. After that, we played Mobile Legends for two hours. We enjoyed playing as we immersed ourselves in the game with its smooth graphics and great dual speaker sounds, losing track of time. Even after all that usage, we still had about 48% of battery life left in the vivo Y28.
We browsed and watched some YouTube videos until we decided to sleep around 11 PM. We ended our day with a 34% battery left.
After all the activities we did with the vivo Y28, we still had some juice left which could last another half day. Considering the heavy usage, the battery performance is impressive. For light use, such as our grandparents or parents watching Facebook videos, browsing the internet, and chatting with loved ones, the battery could last up to two days.
Aside from its superb long-lasting battery, the vivo Y28 can be charged quickly thanks to its 44W fast charger. In 30 minutes, the battery can be charged to 58% from 20% and fully charged in just over an hour.
