HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro: Bridging Apaliteneos’ Historic Past with Today’s Creativity and Artistry

As a natural-born Kapampangan, it has always been wonderful to learn about how our province, Pampanga, especially our town, has been part of several historic events. The bridges and churches that have become significant landmarks contribute to its rich culture and tradition. This connection is something I was able to capture beautifully using the impressive photography features of the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro.

The Rio Grande de la Pampanga served as the vital artery of the province, commonly utilized as a passage for transporting goods and agricultural products between towns, as well as to Manila and further destinations. To enhance trade flow, the construction of bridges was necessary, yet Spain opted to focus its bridge-building efforts primarily in Manila.

Pura 70 Pro at Sulipan Bridge

The Americans accelerated the development of transportation infrastructure in the Philippines. In the 1930s, during peacetime, they undertook extensive road and bridge construction projects. These efforts significantly expanded the country’s highway network, effectively linking towns, islands, and entire provinces.

The Sulipan Bridge in Apalit, for instance which is located in the barangay that I live at, provided a crucial link between Manila, Pampanga, and other northern provinces. The original wood-and-steel structure was recently reconstructed with Japanese funding and was inaugurated in March 2007.

With this remarkable history, I then took time to visit this said Old Sulipan Bridge. Seeing it again, though it was already covered with rust and faded steel, gave me the inspiration on how it could still be part of the young generations’ life through taking pictures that are worth sharing. The HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro had given each of the photos I took a new breakthrough. With the detailed image quality from its portrait shots having the Old Sulipan Bridge with my subject had made everything mesmerizing and nostalgic. Pura 70 Pro effortlessly combines the past and present, serving as a symbol of creativity and artistry.

Capturing Neo-Renaissance-Style with the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro

I grabbed the opportunity of having the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro at my hand to capture the Neo-renaissance-style Roman Catholic Church located at our town proper in Apalit, Pampanga. Its outer architecture shows the additional construction of the two towers beside the church served as reinforcements to improve the structural integrity of the church. The intricate details of its construction were further emphasized with the Pura 70 Pro, capturing vivid shots of this magnificent structure perfectly.

In 1597, Apalit Parish was founded separately from Calumpit Parish, with Fr. Pedro de Vergara as its first curé. Then, on July 22, 2017, something remarkable happened: the parish received a special relic — a piece of Saint Peter’s remains. This relic is unique to the parish and is only found in one other place: St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. It was a big moment in the church’s history when the relic was ceremoniously placed, marking its significance.

Who could resist capturing the artistic beauty of its ceiling? The ceiling art paintings, known as trompe l’oeil, were skillfully crafted by Marcilino “Siling” Serrano, a native of Apalit, under the supervision of Caesare Alberoni, an Italian freelance painter. With the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro’s telephoto feature, the intricate details were brought to life, allowing for stunning photos of the masterpiece. Its powerful image sensor ensures that every detail of the painting is captured with clarity, as if you were standing right in front of it.

Absolutely, the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro offers more than just Instagram-worthy pictures. After using it for a few days, I found myself inspired to unveil the hidden stories behind the old structures in our area, particularly for the younger generation to appreciate. The HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro undoubtedly captures images that serve as bridges to history, allowing the young people of today to understand the significant contributions of our past to our present.
