The Xiaomi 18 Fold made an appearance at the IFA 2026 last week with minimal details. Earlier today, Xiaomi held a Fall Flagship event where they gave the rest of the details of their latest foldable device.
Xiaomi has released 6 foldable phones since the Xiaomi Mix Fold in 2021. Four of them were the bookstyle Mix Fold and the other two were the flipstyle Mix Flip. Xiaomi has thought of which best form factor that combines the strengths of the Mix Fold and Mix Flip. Their answer is the medium fold solution in the Xiaomi 18 Fold which they think is the perfect balanced size. This foldable project was initiated two years ago and their most premium phone to date.
The screen size of the Xiaomi 18 Fold is 5.38″ LTPO 120Hz refresh rate with a rounded corner screen corners. Its modern design makes it durable to accidental drops and provides better grip. On the negative side, the display’s curves reduce the effective screen real estate of the traditional rectangular layout.
Unfolding the 18 Fold reveals a 7.58″ LTPO with 120Hz refresh rate. Both the cover and inner displays have 2:1 aspect ratios. It is 5.02mm thick when unfolded and 10.68mm when closed. Its weight is 219 grams.
Xiaomi is using an advanced foldable architecture and its latest generation Xiaomi dragon bone hinge for their Fold 18. Its innovative three stage linkage mechanism creates the most natural teardrop shape for the inner display, while the hinge provides full contact protection for the inner screen. For the first time they are using the seven series aluminum alloy for the metal frame.

Xiaomi 18 Fold XRING 03
Instead of using chipsets from Qualcomm or MediaTek, Xiaomi developed its own called the XRING 03. During their event, they showed it registered an Antutu Benchmark (version 11) score of 5,228,014. This 10-core architecture’s multi-core performance is 60% higher than its previous generation, power consumption dropped by 20%, while their brand new GPU registered an 85% performance jump.
Storage is available at 256GB, 512GB and 1TB while memory offers 12GB and 16GB.
Compared to the newer passport-sized folds of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and the rumored iPhone Fold, the Xiaomi 18 Fold comes with three cameras tuned by Leica composed of a 200 Megapixel main, 50 Megapixel periscope telephoto with 3.5x Optical Zoom, and 50 Megapixel ultra-wide.
Battery capacity is at 6,000 mAh with 67W for wired charging and 50W for wireless.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold price starts at CNY 10,999 (approx. $1,640 USD) for 12GB/256GB., 12GB/512GB for CNY 11,999 (approx. $1,788 USD), 16GB/12GB for CNY 12,999 and 16GB/1TB for CNY 14,999 (approx. $1,937)
The Xiaomi 18 Fold is released for the China market and we have no word if it will be available in other regions.
