A Xiaomi foldable phone was spotted at IFA 2026. Just a couple of hours ago, Xiaomi announced they will launch the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China on September 7. Unfortunately, the display units were inside a glass case and cannot be used for hands-on. This is quite a surprise from the Global smartphone brand as Apple is expected to release their own foldable phone on September 9.
Xiaomi 18 Fold Passport Design
The 18 Fold has the same Passport design as the Samsung Galaxy Fold8 with rounded corners, making it comfortable to hold. The cover screen is measured around 5.38″ and 7.58″ when opened into tablet mode. The processor of the Xiaomi 18 Fold is the Xiaomi XRING 03 – a 3 nanometer flagship processor they’ve developed for this foldable phone.
It seems Xiaomi wants its 18 Fold’s cameras to be better than the competition by having 3 lenses. It is possible it could have a main, telephoto and ultrawide cameras that should trump both the Fold8 and Apple’s foldable phone.
We’ll have to wait for the Xiaomi 18 Fold’s official announcement on September 7 to know more details about their latest foldable phone.
