Almost like #TBT: BlackBerry Launches the BlackBerry Classic

If you miss the feel of having a physical keypad on your phone, then you’ll definitely be happy about BlackBerry launching the BlackBerry Classic in the Philippines.

BlackBerry Classic 02

The BlackBerry Classic is a nod to the once famous design of the BlackBerry phones of old, giving back the familiar curve of a sturdy business device that many have started to miss now that everything’s touchscreen. The trackpad also makes a come back, and seeing it on a phone is actually quite nostalgic.

Here’s a quick rundown of some of the specs:

Display: 3.5-inch HDI touch screen display that goes for 249dpi, Corning Gorilla Glass 3
OS: BlackBerry 10 OS 10.3.1
Processor: 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon
RAM: 2GB
Internal Memory: 16GB expandable to 128GB via uSD
Camera/s: 8MP rear and 2MP front
Battery: approx. up to 22 hours of regular usage

BlackBerry Classic 03

The BlackBerry Classic may seem to give one an impression that nothing was upgraded to this latest release. We’re wrong, and we learned that compared to the BlackBerry Bold 9900, the browser of the Classic is 3 times faster, has 60% more screen space, 50% longer battery life, and with the addition of the Amazon App Store Classic users can download more apps aside from BlackBerry World.

BlackBerry Classic 04

BlackBerry Philippines partnered with MemoXpress to sell the BlackBerry Classic. It will be available in 22 MemoXpress branches across major cities and municipalities starting February 5, 2015 and will be sold at Php20,990.
