DR’s Top 5 Smartphones of 2013

This is my first time to list down my top 5 choices of smartphones. Is your current phone in my list?

5. STARMOBILE KNIGHT

Starmobile01

One of the best looking Android smartphones I’ve seen in the local market. The Starmobile Knight looks like an oversized iPhone 5, but it definitely looks unique compared to other local Android phones. I loved showing this off because it looks so pogi (like me!) Its performance is pretty good and its camera is also great. Good job on releasing this, Starmobile!

4. CHERRY MOBILE COSMOS X2

CMCosmosX201

Super AMOLED screen, 16GB built-in storage, Quad-Core processor, Above-average battery life. Cherry Mobile has outdone itself by releasing a high-end smartphone with specs only found in international brands. It would have been a lot better if they added more time improving the camera. Overall, I think this is the best work Cherry Mobile has done in the long time.

3. HTC ONE

HTCOne1

The HTC fanboy in me was awakened when the HTC One was announced earlier this year. Its hardware is the best I’ve seen from the Taiwanese company and ‘been lusting to have one for the next several months.

2. SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 3

IMG_0880Its size doesn’t bother me anymore and its specs (including 3GB of RAM!) gets all sorts of praises from me. Never, ever lagged! S Pen software is made better and more useful than the previous versions of the Galaxy Note. I found myself using the S Pen a lot more than I’ve expected and it’s a good thing. With the bar raised on the Note 3, I wonder what improvements will be seen on the Note 4.

And, the number 1 phone of 2013 for DR is….

I consider the LG G2 as the best smartphone of 2013. All the best hardware specs are found in this compact-sized smartphone. The software customizations inside were well-made, near to perfection. LG is always behind Samsung for the past several years, but the LG G2 gave them a reason to shine again in 2013.
