Globe to Continue 5G Infrastracture in GCQ

Globe pushes through on establishing a reliable 5G network in the Philippines as GCQ restrictions ease up. Now that access to a stable internet connection is more important than ever to many, what a welcome (and bold!) move from Globe.

Globe sees the evident need for many companies seriously considering remote working as an alternative. As such, with an expected launch date in the next weeks, Globe aims to prioritize 5G on the high urban areas under GCQ. Specifically, these are Makati and Bonifacio Global City Central of Business Districts (CBDs).

5G for Globe has come a long way from the first public announcement last year. The first Philippine telco to introduce 5G with AirFiber for its broadband customers. Globe’s making sure for that dream to be realized and they’re coming close. Just this February, Globe showcased mobile 5G to select Platinum customers.

Globe’s also planning to release 5G smartphones and technology to be more accessible to the general public. As the first to offer 5G smartphones and a 5G-based video call, Globe has had a great start. They’re on a roll to aim for other 5G applications beyond just relatively faster data speeds.
