Xiaomi Mi10 Youth Edition 5G Launches With Snapdragon 765G Starting at Under US$300

Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi10 Youth Edition 5G, the lightweight affordable Mi10 series smartphone. After Xiaomi’s groundbreaking release of the Mi10, Mi10 Pro, and Mi10 Lite, we’re introduced to an even more affordable choice starting at just approximately PHP 15,000 (US$297).

Mi10 Youth Edition 5G

The Mi10 Youth Edition is basically the Mi10 Lite without its superior camera zoom system. Given it’s lower price, it’s a deal if you want decent specs on a budget. Xiaomi has since been focused on offering the latest specs on relatively low price. In other words, it’s the gist of the core esssence the Mi10 Youth Edition 5G has with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, 4160 mAh battery, and four storage variants to choose from.

For now, it’s only available for the Chinese market. The Mi10 Youth Edition 5G is a very familiar unit starting from the display. Right away you’ll see the 6.57-inch 1080p AMOLED display exactly like the Mi10 Lite. It maxes out at peak brightness at 800 nits. The refresh rate for this display remains at 60Hz while touch sampling is slightly increased at 180Hz. Its 16MP front camera rests on a water drop notch.

Cameras are substantial as well with its 48MP main sensor. Xiaomi’s quad camera system follows to the Mi10 Youth Edition 5G coupled with three other sensors namely: 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, 2MP macro lens, and 8MP periscope zoom. The 8MP periscope zoom is OIS-equipped with 5X optical zoom, 10X hybrid, and up to 50X digital. This is where the Mi10 Lite differs given its extra zoom camera.

Above all, it runs nicely on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G bringing 5G connectivity to this smartphone. This is paired with up to LPDDR4X 8GB of RAM as a 6GB RAM variant is available. Xiaomi offers up to UFS 2.1 256 GB of storage starting at 64GB.

You’ll also get decent battery size with the Mi10 Youth Edition 5G at 4160 mAh. It has Qualcomm Quick-Charge 4+ charging support with a 22.5W charger included in the box. Additionally, it even includes a dandy 3.5mm headphone jack! Security is certain as well with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi Mi10 Youth Edition 5G is available for now only in China starting April 30, 2020. It comes generously in five colors: Peach, white, mint green, blue and black. The prices for the units available are relatively priced as such:

  • 6GB RAM/ 64GB Storage: approximately PHP 15,000 (CNY 2,099)
  • 6GB RAM/128GB Storage: approximately PHP 16,500 (CNY 2,299)

These prices are incredibly attractive following its amazing spec combos. We’ll have to wait and see if Xiaomi will make this available outside China. Stay tuned for more updates.
