First Look: Cherry Mobile Cosmos Three

Cherry Mobile released all sorts of Flares last year that the Cosmos line was left forgotten. Well, it’s back now, and boy I’m glad that it’s back with a vengeance. Let’s welcome back the first Cosmos phone of the year, the Cherry Mobile Cosmos Three!

Cherry Mobile Cosmos Three

The Cosmos Three was announced last month and its processor is something we have heard of last year. MTK’s Helio X20 Deca-Core processor, the same processor used on the brand’s M1, was applied by Cherry Mobile on their Cosmos Three with a speed of 2.3GHz. Some of us who reviewed the M1 were kinda dismayed with the M1’s performance which involved heat issues and very short battery life. I am not certain if it has something to do with the Helio X20 processor, but it was overall a disappointment. However, I am positively looking forward for a better experience with the Cosmos Three.

THE UNBOXING

Check out my Cherry Mobile Cosmos Three Unboxing below:

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: HARDWARE

I’m gonna say this right away – this is absolutely better than the M1. The Cosmos Three feels solid thanks to its metal frame. It feels slightly heavy but it isn’t cumbersome to hold. While it’s great to have a 5.7″ screen display, I wish they utilized the bezel at the bottom and make the screen even bigger. Fingerprint scanner seems to be accurate and the speaker volume sounds alright.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: SOFTWARE

It ran fast and smooth as expected after going through the set-up process. I have installed several apps so far and I have not experienced any slowdown by the Cosmos Three. I’ll be installing a couple of more graphic intensive apps and games so we’ll see if we’ll see anything different in my final review.

Cherry Mobile Cosmos Three

The Cosmos Three’s Antutu Benchmark score scored pretty high compared to the usual Cherry Mobile phones in the past, of course except for the M1. However, as always it remains to be seen in actual usage.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: CAMERA

Sorry guys, but I’ll just post a sample shot from the Cosmos Three’s camera for the meantime:

This photo was taken indoors with Automatic exposure. Looks really good (the camera, and yes the hotdog too!)

Full review will be posted by next week.
