CHERRY MOBILE FLARE X3 FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Cherry Mobile Flare X3 First Impressions

The Cherry Mobile Flare X3 comes with a 6.18″ screen display with Full HD resolution. The big notch reminded me of another Cherry Mobile phone, the Flare S7 Plus which we reviewed last year. The reason why it still has a big notch is because it houses two front cameras composed of 20 Megapixels and 2 Megapixels.

The sides of the Flare X3 are made of metal. The volume controls, power button and fingerprint scanner are found on the right side of the phone.

Speaker grilles are found at the bottom of the phone as well as the USB Type-C port. The 3.5mm headphone jack is found on top. Thank goodness they’ve included the headphone jack in the Flare X3 (the Flare S7 plus lacks this feature.)

In addition to the metal frame, the Flare X3 is covered with glass giving it a more premium look. And for the first time ever, Cherry Mobile has incorporated a two-toned color design on its phone called Twilight Purple. It looks shiny and attractive, not the usual boring generic the Filipino brand has released in the past.

No special glass coating, but like any other glass-covered phones it can be easily be a fingerprint magnet.

The Flare X3 is powered by MTK’s Helio P60 processor which also powered the Flare S7 Plus. The processor is already a year old but it’s still one reliable chipset that other brands like Realme are still using for some of their phones. As expected, navigation around the Vanilla Android Pie UI is flawless and applications open quickly.

I tested a couple of games. PUBG Mobile can be played at HD with High Frame rate. Didn’t encountered any hiccups while playing the game.

The Cherry Mobile Flare X3 boasts of 5 AI cameras that automatically adjusts its settings whenever a photo is about to be taken. Five, because there are three cameras at the back of the Flare X3 and two at the front. The triple-camera setup are composed of the main camera, a 12 Megapixel shooter, a 5 Megapixel for bokeh shots, and a 2 Megapixel for monochrome. Due to our limited time, we were only able to take a few sample photos:

So far, my first impressions of the Cherry Mobile Flare X3 are pretty good. I’m hoping it’s cheaper than the Flare S7 Plus, even though Flare X3 has a bigger 6GB RAM and a longer 4,000 mAh battery. We’ll know the price of it by June 28 so stay tuned for our updates!
