First Look: Realme C2 Unboxing, First Impressions, Specs, Price, Antutu Benchmark

We have reviewed two phones from Realme over the past couple of months and we really liked them for its features and value. With the ways things are going, it looks like Realme is not going to stop being awesome! They launched the Realme 3 Pro which we think is one of the best smartphones in the mid-range segment right now. And as a follow-up to their entry-level superstar the Realme C1, awarded as the best-entry level smartphone in Digital Reg’s Yearend Awards 2018 is another rising star – Realme C2.

Our friends from Realme were enough kind to send us a review unit. With our experience with the C1, we are excited with what the C2 has to offer, so we are posting our unboxing and first impressions of this phone.

REALME C2 UNBOXING

Realme C2 Unboxing

The packaging of the Realme C2 comes in Yellow. I find it appealing because it looks refreshing compared to the usual black boxes we get. Unboxing reveals the Realme C2, USB cable and USB charger. I am not certain if a silicon case is included in the retail package. One thing I’m sure of, a pair of earphones is not included since the C1 didn’t have that as well.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS – HARDWARE

Realme C2 Unboxing

The first thing that drew my attention to the Realme C2 is the back cover. The prism design looks unique and goes well with the navy blue colorway. I like this back cover a lot better compared to the C1 as I find it appealing and trendy.

Realme C2 Unboxing

The phone looks slimmer than its predecessor. The volume keys are still placed on the left side while the power button are on the other.

The bottom of the phone has the speaker grille, USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack.

On top is a 5 Megapixel front camera with a teardrop type of a notch.

Realme C2 Unboxing

Hey Realme! Are you guys sure this is an entry-level phone? It certainly like I am already using a mid-range device!

IPS display looks good as usual.

Realme C2 Unboxing

Never tried a Helio P22-powered phone before, but based on the Antutu Benchmark score the Realme C2 seems to be better than the C1 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 450.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS- SOFTWARE

Realme C2 Unboxing

The C2 runs on Android Pie 9.0 with an overlay of ColorOS 6 Lite. Navigating the phone’s menus feels snappy. ColorOS doesn’t usually have an app drawer so I was surprised that they have it on this device. Swiping up reveals the apps and they are arranged in alphabetical order. I’ve noticed some shortcuts appearing while operating a couple of apps so I’ll be exploring them and include them in our final review.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS- CAMERA

Took a few photos with the Realme C2’s cameras. Here are the photos:

So far, so good. Just like the C1, I think the cameras fare better than most of the entry-level phones I’ve tried before.

Full review will be posted in a couple of weeks!
