With the success of the Huawei P9 last year, Huawei now aims to bring their dual-cameras to their high-end Mate series. Huawei Mate 9 is one of the two latest smartphones released by the Chinese giant with dual-cameras and better specs.
The newer Mate 9 comes with a 5.9″ Full HD Display, just 0.1 inch shy of its predecessor’s 6-inch display. An updated Kirin 960 2.4 GHz processor is found under the hood with a storage capacity of 64GB and expandable with a MicroSD Card up to 256GB. RAM remains at 4GB as well as the battery capacity which is 4,000 mAh.
As mentioned earlier, the main feature added to the Mate 9 is its dual lens technology made popular with 2016’s blockbuster Huawei P9. Co-engineered with Leica, the flagship now has a 12 Megapixel RGB sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, and a 20 Megapixel monochrome sensor also with an aperture of f/2.2. The RGB sensor captures true-to-life colors while the monochrome sensor can take photos with intricate details and depth.

I’m already sold to the Mate 9’s large screen, fast processor, and dual-lens camera, but what also makes me really curious to buy this smartphone is its Machine Learning Algorithm. This solution will help prevent the Mate 9 from sluggishness even after months of usage. Will explain this more when I get my hands on a review unit.
