Just as we think that the mobile phone market in the Philippines is already saturated, another China-based international brand has officially announced its presence here. I honestly never heard of Vivo until last year, when I heard of their plans to do business in the country.
Well, they’re already here, and they were kinda active for the past couple of months. Last April, selected bloggers were sent to Mumbai, India to attend the Vivo V3 Max South Asia launch. Then a few weeks ago, they sponsored a movie screening of Captain America 3: Civil War. And in case you haven’t watched the movie yet, the Vivo brand can be seen not once, not twice, but numerous time throughout the movie! BIG TIME!
Today I attended the local launch of the Vivo V3 Max. In the India launch, they have emphasized that the V3 Max is “Faster than Faster.” Forgive the Vivo executive who intentionally made this grammatically incorrect tagline, but what he and the brand is trying to say is V3 Max is fast in opening the camera, unlocking the phone with the fingerprint scanner, fast charging, and camera autofocus.
Here are the Vivo V3 Max Specs:
OS: | Android 5.1 Lollipop |
---|---|
Processor: | 1.8 GHz Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 Octa-Core processor | Adreno 510 |
Display: | 1080 x 1920 5.5" IPS LCD Display |
Wireless Connections: | LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi a/b/g/n, A-GPS, GLONASS |
Memory: | 32 GB Internal Storage expandable up to 128GB Micro SD Card, 4GB RAM |

SIM Card Slots: | 2x Nano SIM Cards required (Hybrid) |

SRP: | P16,990.00 |
With these specs, Vivo managed to give the Vivo V3 Max Price of P16,990.00. Wow!!! That’s the pricing territory of the Asus Zenfone 2. I am not sure if I’ll have the chance to personally review it (I’m still working on a lot of backlogs) but I’m certain that Jam and I will discuss the V3 Max in a review segment of The CP Republic pretty soon.
