BlackBerry Leap Comes to the Philippines

BlackBerry fans have something to be happy about as the BlackBerry Leap has officially arrived in the Philippines.

Introduced to the market last March during the Mobile World Congress, the Leap is yet another effort of the company to get back into the mobile phone game, which it has been struggling to re-enter in the last few years.

This 5-inch phone boasts of 2GB of RAM and runs on a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM 8960. It’s fitted with the BlackBerry 10 OS 10.3.1 which includes BlackBerry Bend for messaging and content, as well as the BlackBerry Assistant, which is their version of Apple’s Siri and Microsoft’s Cortana.

The main selling point of the Leap is probably its heightened security and privacy protocols, as it supports encryption and comes with anti-malware and back-up features out-of-the-box. In light of recent cloud hacking controversies, this may just be the biggest reason why on-the-go entrepreneurs and executives would consider going back to BlackBerry.

The BlackBerry Leap has started shipping last May 30, and is available at MemoXpess stores for Php 13,490.
