We had the opportunity to check out the newest member of the number series of realme, the realme 12+ 5G. For now, we will be sharing our first impressions of the phone. Stay tuned on March 7, 2024, as they will be announcing the realme 12+ 5G and realme 12 Pro+ 5G here in the Philippines.

The Unboxing
Like its other number series models, the realme 12+ 5G comes in a yellow box with the model number in the center. Opening the box reveals the unit itself, a clear silicone case, 67W Charger, USB Charging cable, SIM ejector pin, and some documents.
First Impressions
When I first took out the realme 12+ 5G from the box, I was amazed at how the design we saw in the realme 11 Pro 5G, which we reviewed last year, has been improved. They still used the vegan leather design, but they changed the center line color to white gold, which, for me, really suits the white vegan leather we have. The color of our unit is called Navigator Beige.
On the rear camera part, you can see it now has four camera spots, but only three have cameras in them. The rear camera design gives an elegant look with a vignette effect line texture.
Moving to the frame, it has a glossy metal finish, making it a fingerprint magnet. Fortunately, there is an included clear silicone case if you want to avoid leaving fingerprints on its frame. It appears quite thick, but it’s alright since they included a 3.5mm headphone jack on top. Additionally, the SIM tray slot, found below the phone, can accommodate an SD card, which is shared with the 2nd SIM card slot. They also made the realme 12+ 5G use a stereo speaker setup.
The display is a 6.67” AMOLED display that is flat compared to the Pro models which are curved. The fingerprint sensor is underneath the display, which is another plus for being a feature-packed smartphone.

Here is what’s underneath the hood of the realme 12+ 5G: The chipset being used is a MediaTek Dimensity 7050. For the rear main camera, it is a Sony LYT-600 OIS sensor, with a 5000mAh battery capacity.
