The Unboxing
When opening the package, you’ll find a range of accessories, including velcro straps, a fur windshield for the built-in microphone, a foam windscreen for the lavalier microphone, a lavalier clip, and several cables. The package also includes two lavalier microphones, documents, and stickers. Lastly, the Saramonic Blink900 B2 with a charging case.
The Design
The Saramonic Blink900 B2 comes with a charging case. It resembles wireless earbuds in how it charges up the two transmitters and one receiver via pogo pin. Charging the case is via USB Type-C which there is also a button that lights up how much charge is left in the case.
The transmitters can be used as a microphone or attached to a lavalier for added versatility. Both the transmitters and receiver have a screen in which you can see the recording level and you can adjust the microphone volume via the volume buttons. Aside from that there is a USB Type-C which you can use to individually charge your transmitters and receiver.
The Features
The Saramonic Blink900 B2 boasts a 2.4GHz wireless transmission with a working distance of 200 meters. It allows for real-time monitoring and microphone output adjustment, thanks to the volume control available on both the transmitter and receiver.
The microphone offers the option to record in mono or stereo, providing separate audio channels for editing purposes. In mono recording mode, it mixes the audio from both transmitters into a single channel.
The pickup pattern of the built-in microphone in the transmitters are omnidirectional. It picks up the sound around it and not just from one angle. It is fine as you can clip it on your shirt that is near and not that close to your mouth.
The Sound Performance
We included an audio recording which is also the same as in our YouTube video. We recorded the audio by just using the included microphone of the transmitter. Upon listening, you’ll notice that the Saramonic Blink900 B2 captures clear and crisp audio, even in the presence of background noise. The recordings reflect its ability to deliver reliable sound performance.
The Battery
The two transmitters can operate for up to 6 hours, while the receiver can last up to 7 hours on a single charge. The charging case offers the convenience of recharging the transmitters and receiver up to three times, ensuring extended usage without worry.
