PNY Introduces the Impressive RTX 50 Series Slim Model Graphics Cards at COMPUTEX 2026

I dropped by the PNY booth last COMPUTEX 2026 to say hi and took a look at what they have. I was expecting more on the enterprise side of things, but apparently there’s a new Slim Model line of RTX 50 series that were added by PNY recently which may prove to be useful for SFF PC builders, low-key/stealth/black-out PC builds or those looking to leverage multiple GPUs for their work. SLI may be gone, but there is software, especially for 3D rendering and even AI that can leverage an extra GPU installed.

A display featuring a collaboration of PNY with Resident Evil 9 was on the floor. It uses a white theme to represent one of Umbrella’s laboratories, with a white PNY GPU with a custom printed GPU backplate. The build was made by a Filipino custom builder Sam C.

PNY GeForce RTX 50 Series Slim Models

A quick visit to PNY’s GeForce Graphics Cards main page will give us a new PNY model line “Slim Models”. Compared to the now usual 2.5, 2.7 or even 3 or 4 slot high graphics card, PNY redesigned their cooler and most likely, the graphics card’s board to be wider. And as NVIDIA’s OEM manufacturer for the NVIDIA Founders Edition Graphics Cards, they were able to leverage the design to use the same board layout/setup and thickness/height.

Comparing it to their typical PNY GPU design which has a longer board and having a more detailed shroud design, the Slim Models have a shorter board, much simpler shroud design, and only two fans, like the Founder’s Edition.

Given how PNY RTX 5060 and RTX 5060Ti models are already compact, the models that have slim models are the PNY RTX 5070 Slim/Slim OC, PNY RTX 5070 Ti Slim/Slim OC, and RTX 5080 Slim.

Now, one of the reasons why PNY released this particular form factor for upper end NVIDIA GPUs is that certain applications and AI tools on the PC can leverage more than one GPU. With the GeForce RTX 5090 being an incredibly premium priced graphics card right now, one alternative to increase a machine’s performance is to add another graphics card. However, given how tall/thick RTX 50 series graphics cards are, packing together two on a PC even with an ATX motherboard can be problematic. Hence having two 2-slot high graphics card will at least be able to fit properly. Having a slimmer graphics card also aids in preventing congestion of air for cooling.

Unveiled last year by NVIDIA, the DGX Spark is a mini-PC that is an AI inference server, that allows us to have our own AI server. This is used normally to locally train AI LLMs prior to scaling it up to a server farm.

PNY Storage New Products

While PC memory is expensive right now, other products that PNY recently released are under their storage line. They have two drives, one M.2 and another a portable MagSafe drive.

The PNY CS2250 is a higher speed M.2 NVMe SSD follow up to the CS2150. It features 14,900 MB/s read and 13,000 MB/s write speeds. It will come with 1TB and up to 8TB capacity.

For their MagSafe drive, they have a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 portable SSD. No additional details were provided, but I would expect that it will come in at least 1TB or 2TB capacities.

PNY Enterprise Storage

PNY has also jumped into the enterprise storage trail as well with their Pascari Enterprise SSD. They have several form factors available starting with X-Series using PCIe 5.0 with U.2/E3.S/E1.L interfaces. It has a maximum of up to 30.72TB of storage. The D-Series is geared for Data Centers and has the same PCIe 5.0 and U.2/E.3S/E3.L/E1.L interface. It however has an even higher maximum capacity of 245.76TB of storage. For enterprise 2.5″ storage drive, it has the S-Series using SATA III with a maximum storage capacity of 15.36 TB. Then finally, to contain the server OS, they introduced the B-Series M.2 SSD with interfaces for PCIe 4.0/5.0/SATA III and a maximum storage size of 7.68TB.
