First Look: OPPO Reno 10X Unboxing, Specs, First Impressions, Antutu Benchmark, Photos

We’ve been posting about the OPPO Reno since March and we were curious how it would make a good impression to customers who are into high-end devices. A few days ago, we posted about an OPPO Executive using a phone that can zoom in up to 60x. The video has a Reno logo placed in the corner, suggesting it was taken by an OPPO Reno phone.

After months of speculations, the wait is finally over! The OPPO Reno will be launched in the Philippines in the next few days, but we already have a unit in our hands! Xie-Xie to OPPO Philippines! Yes folks! We’ll be giving you a first look of the OPPO Reno 10x, OPPO’s return ticket to the High-end Smartphone Market!

OPPO RENO 10X UNBOXING

OPPO Reno 10x Unboxing

The OPPO Reno 10x has the most elegant packaging I’ve ever seen among all the high-end smartphones I’ve unboxed throughout the years. The box itself looks shiny.

Inside the box are the OPPO Reno 10x, a phone case, USB Type-C Cable, VOOC Charger, earphones, SIM Tray ejector and several pamphlets.

These earphones look awesome! Will also try them out during the review period.

The phone case is thick but it will surely add protection to the phone. Usually, the bottom part is not covered but for the Reno 10x, it’s the other way around. It looks akward but I’ll explain later in the review why it’s not covered.

The overall design of the phone looks a lot better and more “high-end” than the OPPO Find X. The Jet Black color I received has a glossy finish which is visually appealing, but can be slippery at times. It’s best to use the case that came in with the package.

What I like about the Find X and the OPPO F11 Pro is having a panoramic screen display, and the Reno 10x has certainly improved in that aspect. It has a bigger 93.1% screen-to-body ratio. No holes, no notches to distract you from viewing your favorite videos on the Reno 10x!

This is what I’ve been looking for a phone in a very long time! You will notice the phone is almost bezel-less! And the AMOLED screen is so bright and crisp! So far, I’ve enjoyed binge-watching on the Reno 10x than watching Netflix on TV! The screen, as well as the back are covered with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for a layer of protection. It also has a fingerprint scanner on the display but I haven’t tested that one yet.

The Reno series introduced a Pivot-Rising Camera Design that houses the 16 Megapixel front camera and rear flash. This is the reason why the case doesn’t have any protection on top of the phone.

KABOOM! That’s how fast the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor is! This is also one of the reasons why I’m interested to own the OPPO Reno 10x, I will share my other benchmark scores in my full review.

The star of the show is the 60x Zoom feature of the Reno 10x. OPPO was able to combine three lenses to a full focal length of 16-160mm. Here are sample photos taken with a wide-angle, 1x, 2x, 6x, 10x up to 60x zoom:

Fantastic!

We had a BGC Photo Walk and we used our OPPO Reno 10x to take pictures of the artworks in the area. The camera was very helpful and getting the intricate details a human eye could barely see. Check out the photos below:

By the way, here’s our OPPO Reno 10x Unboxing Video:

The OPPO Reno 10x is one of my main candidates to become my next smartphone this year. Could this be the one? We’ll find out when we post our full review very soon!
